I want to be excited about it, and it sure does look purty (so far, although I'm sure the final product will as well). I'm heavy-laden with skepticism, but maybe they'll win me back after all these years. If they keep it as pure an experience as CoD 2, I'll probably be on board no matter what. If they drown it in all the perks and killstreaks and blah blah blah of the recent games, I don't know that any amount of fantastic gameplay will win me over. |

I was faced with the choice between BF1 or Titanfall 2, and I chose the latter. I'm probably one of the only ones who did, but I don't regret it in the least. So if you can't find anyone with whom to play in BF1, make the switch and love life |

I load the forums up here usually a few times a week, and I noticed it's been pretty quiet. I suppose without a game to bring us together, that's only natural.
So what've y'all been up to? What are you playing? What releases are you looking forward to?
I've been mostly playing Rocket League, Witcher 3, and Transistor. Dabbled in a few others, but I haven't found many games recently that really draw me in the same way that something like Bioshock or Dishonored would. Really psyched about Dishonored 2. Also keeping up with Battalion 1944, although I'm [cautiously] hoping Battlefield 1 will satisfy my shooter urges for a while once it comes out.
Aside from gaming, my son's nearing the 18 month mark, so that's been fun. Still turning wrenches but also still trying to get out of aviation. Finally started some new ink on my back. Went to Mexico (Isla de la Piedra) in May, going again (Cancun) in October, and it seems like every weekend has had some sort of social activity. Been a very good summer, but I'm ready for cooler weather.
There's me kicking things off. How about the rest of you? |

I didn't have any pointers when you initially posted this, but I thought I'd check in and see how it's going. Made the jump yet? |

I'm nearly ready to buy this on launch day. Will probably still await at least PC Gamer's review, but I'll be itching to get it. |

Mr. Bungle is the only one I've really gotten into, and even then only 'California'. It's definitely a different kind of thing, and not as accessible as Faith No More (although half of their stuff is pretty out there), but that album, at least, is one of my all-time favorites. For whatever reason, it keeps things interesting to me, and I can listen to it start to finish. |

Faith No More is fantastic, and that's probably my favorite album of theirs. Have you explored any of Mike Patton's other projects? |

-Baker- Don't buy http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA3XW3268397&cm_re=asus_vc278q-p-_-24-236-345-_-Product if by chance you are looking at them. I got 2 and they have a screen flaw about 3/4 the size of a dime, in the exact same spot. One is refurbished and one is new. RMA? Nah, I can live with it, plus wouldn't have a monitor for that time lol. |
Noted! The one that's currently at the top of my list is the Dell S2716DG. It'll be a bit before I have that kind of cash to drop, so my research will continue in the meantime. |

I'm working on the monitor upgrade, so maybe once I've accomplished that, another GPU can be in my sights. I'll probably stick with the 970, and hopefully it'll get cheaper with the new releases. |

I've got a GTX 970, and I love it. I don't overclock, so I can't speak to its capabilities in that regard, but I can max out everything I've tried to play (except for the hair physics in Witcher 3 - those are frickin' demanding). Tempted to SLI another one... |

This game just hit my radar recently, and I'm definitely going to be following its development. I'm not playing BF4 much these days and don't see any other shooters that could take its place, so Battalion might just do the trick. |

I played several times and enjoyed it for the most part. Definitely thin on depth and the aforementioned teamwork, but it was fun. I can't see dropping $60 for it, but I might try to catch it on sale at the end of the year, if the reviews pan out. |

I ended up getting the Corsair K70 with browns. Wanted the RGB, but didn't want to pony up the premium for it. Ultimately, I didn't need more pretty lights to love this thing. I could type on it forever. |

Found time tonight! Upgrade process went quite smoothly. The only issue I've encountered so far is that it changed my audio to 7.1 (which I don't have), so it made me think I was having issues. Switched it back to stereo, and all seems to be well. I've tested it with CoD2, Minecraft, and Battlefield 4 without any real problems. CoD2 takes a while to load, but I was having that with 7 as well.
Overall, it looks a good deal different from 7, especially the start menu. I'd compare it to when Android adopted material design, as far as the aesthetics are concerned. It transferred over my quickstart menu, so I was very happy to see that, and none of my programs appear to be inop. Everything seems pretty responsive, and it boots quickly. Quite pleased at this point. |
