Many hours have been spent coding the AWE mod to offer something better than before and better than the Extreme servers out there. That great COD2 weapon feel and movement is back!

Some of our -=EC=- members and a few folks from around the game have spent a few months writing code and modifying the old AWE mod in hopes of creating some interest in an improved experience over all the Extreme servers out there, and just for fun. Wink

They're recruiting some people for testing this coming weekend so keep an eye out if you're interested. I think the timeframe isn't set at this point but I've heard Friday and Saturday bantered about.

It looks like we have enough interested parties to head down the dedicated server path for 1944. Once the files have been release and reviewed, we'll take a look at the time commitment and costs. We'll look to update the website soon with Battalion information and a donation button to get this off the ground if we go all the way. There is no set schedule on how soon our provider will be ready with dedicated servers so we're a little at their mercy now. We might look at a VPS too, if they drag their feet too long.

Hopefully, this will bring a revival to clan populations and activities. If not, we'll still have some fun along the way.

I set up a Discord server here https://discord.gg/gB8RjaG This is a free and easy way to socialize. Works on all kinds of devices. It's a good chat room program. You can use it in a browser or download the app...phone or pc. Once you're on I can set your rank and all that. EC Discord

Played some CTF rounds tonight. Maps weren't really and issue, it's the same old thing. I'm a private 2nd class and have almost a zero chance killing someone who's ranked higher (loads of people level 40-55) because they get better weapons...it's dumb. If I had hours upon hours to rank up I suppose it wouldn't matter, but I don't.

I haven't gotten a chance to play WWII much so I can't contribute a lot to this. I enjoyed the single player. The multiplayer feels ok and looks good but the few maps I've been in are not great for the kind of play I think we're looking for. They're massive with loads of really long sight lines. Maybe it just my old eyes but I found it difficult to see who was shooting at me or what my target was most of the time. I will give it another shot one day, though.
